Feathered Fox Den

Hi everyone! I've had a few people reach out to ask if they missed the surveys. I have NOT emailed surveys out yet BUT

If I send surveys out now I can get a lot of the foxes in production and hopefully finished before the Chinese New Year (in February)

I want to wait til wolves are finished, but that will take probably another month or 2 to perfect them. Tina and her designers are working on coyote pigeon now and I should receive pics in 2 weeks. I am having them make 2 different samples of him using different fabric types they have. I will select the best one (I will make a poll if needed) and have Magpie wolf made with the same fabric type. Here are the 2 fabric types I'm looking at for the main body. The bright orange is red fox fur to compare.

IF I send surveys out now and you aren't sure about purchasing Magpie Wolf or Coyote Pigeon, I would 100% refund you if the final sample isn't to your liking. So if you think you want one my advice would be to add one to your pledge as they are limited in quantity. This manufacturer is more expensive and higher quality so I will not be ordering very many extras, maybe 20 extra of each design to account for any B grades. These extras would go on my website after all pledges have shipped.

In short, if surveys are sent now I can get most of the foxes made and shipped to me in February (arriving March/April). And then Coyote Pigeon and Magpie Wolf prototypes will hopefully be finalized in January. I will share pictures of them and if anyone needs me to remove them from their pledge I will do that, no questions asked. Production for them would start in March. If I wait to send surveys the foxes may not be finished until Late Summer of 2026

Shipping is NOT going to be charged yet on surveys. Backerkit allows me to do it later now. Shipping will be charged closer to when I'm ready to ship all orders so no need to worry about that right now :)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! At last, both prototypes are finished and I've received pictures.

Here is Barn Owl Fox



I am smitten with his wings! It's hard to see the brown peak on his head. I took some screenshots from the video they sent and it is there! Just more subtle than my drawing which makes sense for fuzzy fabric.

And here is Violet Budgie!!!



Her wings were accidentally placed too close to her neck? The final ones will match all the others. Other than that I LOVE her, so cute!

These guy's should be shipping to me shortly and I hope to get them in 7-10 days! I'll get better pics when they arrive :) 

WOLVES UPDATE

Tina finally received my magpie wolf yesterday so construction is starting on him and Coyote Pigeon. I'm so sorry for the delay! The original Magpie wolf prototype I mailed out is STILL stuck in customs, RIP. So I mailed one of the bulk manufactured ones I received using a different shipping carrier. I'm hoping she'll have a sample ready in 2 weeks.

Violet budgie is unlocked and the prototype has been ordered! Tina has shared this gorgeous purple fabric with me. She will be fuzzy like blue Jay fox 🥰

And her pink nose is hard plastic covered in soft velvet. I love it! But my friend brought up this could be a sensory issue for some people so I wanted to share before my campaign is over.


Barn owl prototype is also set to be finished this week! Here's the brown fabric they are using for him, it's the light gold color in the top right! The orange to the left of it is what was used for Oriole and red fox.


I also wanted to send all current Prototype pics again to make sure everyone has seen them as well as note any changes that may be happening.

Body is perfect, wing shape will change to match all the other fox prototypes shape (wing tips more rounded, less pointy)

Perfect! Only missing a little embroidered mouth

Perfect! No changes

COBALT, BLUE JAY FOX
Tail tip WAS Supposed to be black, BUT I love the white so he's staying as is. He is perfect 🩵 

MAGPIE WOLF
Current Prototype is by Gaopeng, but I am switching to Tina who makes the fox plush for me! I have mailed her the sample below and she is going to reference it since I love the shape and floppiness. Changes will include shorter fabric for ears, a better muzzle shape and nose placement with an embroidered mouth, a less 2 dimensional tail? and toe seams on the paws.

COYOTE PIGEON
I have not received the coyote prototype yet from Gaopeng. Here is the most recent pic they've sent me. I am also going to have Tina make him instead! Changes include shorter fabric for ears, better muzzle and nose placement, embroidered mouth, maybe tear ducts for eyes, toe seams on paws, tail less 2 dimensional, dark gray fabric on tip of tail, and better gray colors for the wings.


If you need to change or cancel your pledge, now is the time! We have just over a day to go.

I will have all of these plush available as add ons in the survey you will receive in 3-4 weeks. Tina will be working super hard to finish all unfinished prototypes before then. Weighted wolf plush will still be limited to 100 plush each. I promise though that I will share progress pics of the wolf plush as well as be receptive to all feedback I receive. I want these plush to be amazing and I know Tina can do it!

*edit* I forgot to share pics of the hang tag I've designed! The front and some of the text on the back will be shiny foil! The light colored text is what will be shiny. Each plush will have a different colored tag that matches their colors best.

He is so cute and fluffy!!! I do believe the consensus was to keep this fabric for him?

Personally, I'd want to switch to fabric like the others just for consistency's sake. His head is just a smidge smaller and neck not as obvious. I know that's the fabric effecting him. His tail tip should be black, but the white is so pretty too! His fur is going the wrong direction? I think that's partly why his face can look funny. His fur direction goes from tail to to head and I don't like it. That will definitely be changed!
 
I'm struggling on names for him. I've thought of Cobalt, Azure, Lapis, Sky, or Indigo, but none have really stuck. Sky is my favorite so far. His personality is Spirited, Amusing, and Outspoken.

Also, random side note, I made a new banner for my campaign! And it reminded me that red fox's face is different then all of these guys and I'll probably have them make a new prototype of him too. It's a minor change (literally just giving him a bit less forehead and head length). It's what I had them do for Magpie fox and then all the others. I think it might help to show his eyes better? They are such a pretty blue! Also he need his wings made just like all the other still. His feather tips are too pointy. *Update* Due to popular demand, Juniper the Red fox's face shall remain as is ❤️

I am STILL waiting on Magpie Wolf Prototype to reach my Fox manufacturer, Tina. Its stuck in Ohio. I've called DHL and they say there's nothing I can do, but wait. Super frustrating. I really want to see what they can do with both Coyote Pigeon and Magpie Wolf! 

And I should get Barn Owl Fox pics next week. We are so close to him being unlocked! :)

I received pics of Blue Jay Fox today!



Isn't he cute??! I love the colors and his markings are spot on for what I was hoping for. His tail tip should be black. The only other thing bothering me is his eyes look further apart? But I might just be crazy. My manufacturer is going to take a pic with his fur brushed up out of his eyes so I can see better. My rep also mentioned since his fur texture is different, a bit fluffier, that that might be effecting him too! So we might try another sample with a fur closer to the others. I'm really picky about the color though and this current fabric color is spot on.

And my wolf manufacturer sent me updated Coyote Pigeon pics!



She looks a LOT better. Still a mistake on the neck (they know), but they will most likely ship this one to me as is and make a correct sample before bulk production. BUT

Because of the mistakes wolf manufacturer keeps making I have reached out to the manufacturer who does my fox plush. Tina is my rep there and she is incredibly kind and helpful! She has offered to lower her MOQ to 50 for me, but I wont know the price quote yet until she receives the sample I sent her. I mailed her the prototype of Magpie Wolf last week so he should arrive soon. I want his body shape and floppiness to stay the same. I want them to make a better muzzle if possible with a mouth sewn on. I also want seams on his paws. And they might change the tail shape a smidge (it's very 2 dimensional currently). Maybe even trying black tear ducts around the eyes... I also think shorter fur on the ears will be better!

She will have a prototype of Coyote Pigeon made first and I will share pics here as SOON as I get them. It might not happen til after my campaign is over. But the fox manufacturer is a lot quicker than the wolf one and faster to respond to my inquiries! Tina is the best so I have full confidence in her company producing an amazing plush.

Also, side note. I did a preorder of Magpie Wolves on my website awhile back. They finally arrived this week! This was a good test run to determine quality and also to see a bit more about how the manufacturing process works. Overall the fur quality is sublime, great sewing, I haven't found any holes, just a few threads that needed to be trimmed. I'm pretty impressed, however, the ears are not as fantastic as the prototype. They are smaller and a bit more rounded than I like. This is definitely due to the longer fur fabric. I fixed most of them with a comb and by gently brushing the fur up. If for some reason I have to continue with the wolves being made by the wolf manufacturer I would address this issue with them before they make more.
